The Provincial Tourism Office concluded the National Arts Month celebration last February 28 with Araw ng Musika, Sayaw, at Kultura at the Bataan Tourism Park.
The event featured performances, exhibits, and awarding ceremonies aimed at promoting local artistry and cultural heritage. Bataan High School for the Arts students presented performances in music, dance, and theater, while the local art group PensinsulArtes was recognized for its contributions to visual arts through a month-long exhibit at The Bunker from February 1 to 28, showcasing works from various Bataeño artists.
The awarding ceremony for Behold Bataan: Lente at Larawan, a photography competition, was also held wherein Joseph Andrei Crisostomo from Balanga City won first place for “Golden Tuyo,” followed by Sam My from Dinalupihan for “Ani ng Butil,” and Justieni Gonzales from Hermosa for “Hatid na Himbing ng Tingtingin.” The competition highlighted photographs that captured Bataan’s cultural and natural landscapes.
The short film competition Kwentong Manlilikha also recognized its winners, with “Binhi” from Abucay receiving first place, “Mga Anino sa Tubig” from Orion in second place, and “Dala-Dala” from Dinalupihan in third place. The films focused on narratives about local artists and their role in the community. The event marked the official conclusion of the National Arts Month celebration in Bataan, with organizers emphasizing the significance of recognizing local artists and their contributions to the province’s cultural development.
